Job Title: QA/QC Head
Location: CHENNAI
Department: Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Reports To: CTO
Job Summary:
The QA/QC Head will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. The role requires ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications while driving continuous improvement in quality management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
Define quality objectives, policies, and procedures to meet project and organizational goals.
Ensure quality control processes are effectively implemented at each stage of engineering, procurement, and construction.
Conduct audits and inspections of projects to verify adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all projects comply with local and international regulatory standards, codes, and client requirements.
Develop and review quality control plans (QCPs), Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and other quality-related documentation.
Coordinate with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and third-party inspectors.
Project Execution & Inspection:
Monitor and oversee quality checks on materials, fabrication, installation, and construction processes.
Identify and rectify any non-conformities or deviations from quality standards.
Review and approve supplier/vendor quality control documentation and certifications.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor the QA/QC team to ensure high standards of quality management.
Conduct training programs to enhance quality awareness among project teams and subcontractors.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address quality-related concerns.
Participate in quality review meetings and provide expert recommendations.
Ensure timely reporting of quality performance metrics to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field).
15+ years of experience in QA/QC management in EPC projects.
Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (ISO, ASME, API, ASTM, IEC, etc.).
Experience in conducting audits, quality assessments, and supplier evaluations.
Certifications such as Lead Auditor (ISO 9001), ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent preferred.
Familiarity with construction methodologies, welding, NDT, material inspection, and related quality aspects.
Proficiency in QA/QC software and tools.
Key Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and ability to enforce quality standards.
